All lanes clear after pickup truck, grain truck crash on I-70 near Millersburg

COLUMBIA — Two people sustained minor injuries in a crash involving a pickup truck and grain truck that backed up traffic Wednesday on Interstate 70.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, 82-year-old Samuel Dyer, of Marshall was driving his GMC Sierra eastbound on I-70.

When Dyer attempted to change lanes and negotiate a turn into the median at mile marker 136.4 in Boone County, he crossed in front of a grain truck driven by 35-year-old Andrew Plattner, of Waverly.

At around 8:46 a.m. Plattner struck the driver’s side of Dyer’s vehicle and traveled into the median striking the cable barrier and overturned.

Both Plattner and Dyer were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

This injury crash is in the median at mile-marker 136.2.

Westbound passing lane is currently blocked due to a large amount of mud in the roadway.

Eastbound passing lane is blocked with emergency vehicles.

I-70 Delays

Due to a vehicle crash, expect delays on I-70 near Millersburg at mile marker 136. Stay updated with the Travelers Map.

In a tweet at 10:18 a.m., MSHP Troop F said they were still working to clear the scene of the crash.

The westbound passing lane was blocked due to mud in the roadway and the eastbound lane was blocked due to emergency vehicles.

At 11:43 a.m. MSHP Troop F shared a video of traffic conditions on I-70 as crews were still clearing mud and grain from the crash.

At 12:26 p.m. the Missouri Department of Transportation alerted the public that all lanes were clear.

All lanes of I-70 are now clear and open to traffic in Boone County. There were recent lane closures due to a vehicle crash.
